Join the D577 and turn right.
Follow the D577 to the A84 Motorway, and take the route
to Caen.
On the outskirts of Caen, you join the Peripherique
(ring road). Follow the signposts for ‘Car Ferries’,
taking the Peripherique Nord.
At junction 3 of the Peripherique, turn off onto the
D514, still signposted to the carry ferry, and Ouistreham.
About four miles down the road, turn off onto the
D224 signposted for ‘Pegasus Bridge, and Ranville. You
come down to a roundabout, and head towards Ranville.
Pegasus Bridge is directly in front of you.
Cross the bridge and take the first turning left. The
entry to the Museum is on your right. The car park is
usually full, but you can park on the verges just beyond
the museum entry.
Merville Battery
To go on to the Merville battery, rejoin the D224,
turning left towards Ranville.
After passing over the River Orne you come to a roundabout.
Turn left onto the D514 towards Merville-Franceville.
On the approach to Merville, you will come to a set
of traffic lights. Turn right, following the signs to
the Merville Battery.
The site and Museum is a short distance down this road,
to the right.
